I am a retired single woman who loves any kind of crafting. I enjoy DIY projects and home decorating. My family consist of two children, my son Mike and my daughter Kim, one granddaughter, two step-grandsons and my cat Savannah.
Mike
This is Jeannene's son and Kim's brother, Mike. He enjoys playing in pool tournaments and watching Auburn football. He is the only Auburn fan in a family filled with Alabama fans.
Jordan
Jordan is Kim's daughter and Jeannene's granddaughter. This is the first day of 7th Grade. A real beauty! Jordan has inherited a creative, artsy nature and loves to design things of her own, so look for some of Jordan's work to be displayed too.
Matt and Katie's Engagement Picture
This is Kim's step-son Matt and Matt's bride, Katie. They were married in May, 2010, and they both recently graduated from the University of Alabama. They moved back to Birmingham just after Christmas 2010 for Matt to join the staff of Church of the Highlands. Katie joined the staff of Church of the Highlands' ARC office (Association of Related Churches), whose mission is to aid, train and coordinate the opening of new churches throughout the nation. Best wishes in their new marriage and carreers.
Murray, II
Murray is Kim's step-son. He is 26 and recently graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Marketing and Public Relations. He is currently working several jobs, while trying to find the right long-term career for himself.
Savannah
Jeannene's beautiful cat Savannah is 15 years old, and she has had her since she was 4 weeks old. Savannah was left on the side of the road in a paper bag in hopes that someone would find her and love her. God chose Jeannnene to take her in and provide for her. She provides more love and attention to Jeannnene than Jeannnene has time to give to her. They have become bff's while growing old together.
Since we are all things crafty as well as scrappy, here is a little something that Kim made during her family movie time. (Idle hands and all that.) This is a baby blanket, jacket and hat with a rose bud theme for Kim's cousin-in-law who is expecting a little girl, Gracie Hope, in a few weeks. To add some "scrappy" to this project, Kim recrafted an old gift box left over from Christmas using basic white cardstock, some ribbon, and several papers from a specialty cardstock book from Me & My Big Ideas. So, next time you are in a fix and need a specially wraped gift, forget about boring old wrapping paper, and put together some of your favorite scrapbook papers.
ScrappyLegg has been learning lots of new techniques and some amazing things to create with paper. We will have another mini scrapbook album to show you in the next day or so, and soon will have some new themed albums with shadow boxes that we know you will love. Thanks to Kathy at Paper Phenomenom for all the great inspiration. Check out her link.
In the meantime, here are a couple of things to we would like to share.
Jordan really enjoyed her science class this year and wanted to give her teacher a special note at the end of the year. So Kim created this humorous "mad scientist" card complete with a vial of glittery green eye balls, a special thank you charm, and a chipboard note that says "Inspire." Lots of detail was added to the scientist with Glossy Accents and bright green flocking.
Jordan has had quite a number of friends having birthdays lately, and this is an example of a one of the cards we have made.
We made our first International sale on eBay this week. Welcome Singapore!!
This is a beautiful paper bag mini scrapbook album that Jeannnene made just in time for spring. Below are a few photos. The album included 18 different pages, with mats for over 50 photos.
This is the front of the album.
The album included inserts for additional photos in the sides and Jeannene added real branch pieces as the pull out tabs.
The binding of the album was covered in a tan and black suede checked material.
The album included lots of natural embellishments such as feathers, paper flowers and butterflies, but also included charms, speckled eggs and fabric leaves. All the odd-numbered pages lifted to reveal additional photo mats and/or photo booklets. Here are just a few of the pages.
I am a married mother of three. My husband, Murray, and I have been married for almost 15 years. I have one daughter, Jordan, age 12, and two heart-sons (step-sons who are mine in my heart), Matt, age 23, and Murray, age 25. In May, 2010, we welcomed Matt's bride, Katie, to our family.
