We ran across some pictures from this summer, and found the first true "Scrappy Legg Design" because it was created just after Jeannene and Kim decided to become Scrappy Legg. This card was a thank you note to friends of Kim and Murray's for letting them, along with Jeannene, use their condo in Orange Beach for a week in July. We wanted to have a beach scene, of course, but we also couldn't resist adding a tear bear, real sand and real sea shells.
The inside of the card was a nod to all the banners we had seen flying that week. Too bad the beaches were deserted and only a few people actually saw the advertisements.
Since Kim and Murray's friends are the Hoppers, when it came time to put our thank you note in an envelope, we couldn't resist the pun and added these two happy frogs.
Mrs. Hopper is a real beauty, so this womanly amphibian is merely a caricature. How would you like to be smooched by those lips?! Our Mr. Hopper isn't telling!
Thanks again to the Hoppers for their wonderful friendship and generosity. See you in Tuscaloosa next weekend -- hopefully we'll be snacking on some gator burgers.
