Handmade Baby Easel Card and Box

I'm sure y'all (yes, were from the South) are getting tired of our wedding and baby cards, but we've had a lot of wedding and babies among our family and friends lately. Although this will probably be our last baby/wedding card that we post for a while, be sure to check back in a few days as we will be posting a beautiful, spring mini album that Jeannene is finishing and a couple of adorable Easter cards that Kim is completing. You won't be disappointed.

In the meantime, below is a heartwarming easel card and gift box that features a Mom holding her precious baby's tiny foot. In a color palette of soft pinks and yellows, this easel card welcomes the sweet baby home.

This is the front of the card. The edges of the card have been hand sewn with complimentary soft yellow DMC floss and pearls have been added to the corners.

The beautiful KLM Designs image that is the focal point of this card has been colored using Copic sketch markers.

Framing the image is a spray of soft cream and pink cherry blossoms and glistening cream aster daisies.

The card is at its best when sitting in the easel position, as it displays a lovely sentiment which has also been hand stitched. There is additional space hidden inside the card for you to add your own personal note.

A custom box envelope in a pink and yellow floral pattern has been made to hold the easel card. The front of the box has an area to add baby's name, and matching cherry blossoms accent the sentiment area on the box.

A Velcro enclosure has been added to back of the envelope.

If you are interested, this is currently posted on Ebay under "scrappylegg." We also have on Ebay the Baby Girl Card we posted last week and the Vintage Girl in Blue Card that we posted in September or October, 2010 (see below). In addition, we have posted a couple of scrapbook layouts that we did several years ago, but have never used or sold. Even if you're not interest in anything right now, keep us in mind and mention us to your friends. Thanks for looking!

Baby Bunny Card and Box Envelope

We have had a little bit of success on Ebay -- lots of little details to think through. We recommend giving it a try. Good luck.

This is an easel card and box envelope that Kim made early last fall, and we have decided to put it on Ebay tomorrow. The easel card and box envelope are in soft yellows and a range of rosy pinks.

The card features a Precious Moments Baby Bunny holding a big heart announcing a new baby girl. Flowers and pearls have been added to the wreath around our Baby Bunny's head.

She is holding a three-dimensional bouquet of tiny yellow rose buds tied with a light pink organza bow. Pink and yellow cherry blossoms and soft yellow aster daisies frame our Baby Bunny and her announcement.

The edges of the card have been hand sewn with a cross-stitch pattern in coordinating pink DMC thread. Pink buttons dot the corners of the card.

This is the card sitting in the easel position.

The inside of the card not only has a lovely printed sentiment that shows when the card is displayed in the easel position, but there is additional room for a personal note or signature that is not visible when displayed in the easel position.

The card fits nicely in the matching box envelope. There is a Velcro closure on the back of the envelope.

The front of the box envelope has an area for a personal note or salutation to the new baby and is framed with matching pink buttons and a cluster of pink and yellow flowers.

This is the side view of the box envelope that shows the 1/2" depth of the box.

Katie and Matt's Wedding

When Kim's step-son Matt and his fiance Katie began planning their wedding, they had a few unconventional ideas along with a tight budget (due to a luxury honeymoon in Antigua). They both had a lot of close friends, so they had a large wedding party with 10 bridesmaids, 10 groomsmen, six ushers, a flower girl and a ring bearer. Katie and Matt are both hip, edgy and artistic, and they wanted their wedding to be unique. So the two of them, along with a couple of their friends, designed this graphic wedding invitation.

Since the wedding party was so large, the rehearsal dinner was a huge event for 80 people. Keeping in mind Katie and Matt's desire for a unique wedding, Kim designed this dinner invitation featuring some of the couple's engagement pictures that were taken in an historic area of downtown Birmingham and the Song of Solomon verse that was the theme of the wedding.

The rehearsal dinner was held at a home renovated for events, and ScrappyLegg was excited to add some unexpected personal touches. Staying with the royal blue, black and white color scheme, we dressed the tables in white table cloths, chair covers, and tall white floral arrangements. We then draped the chairs in royal blue satin, and added royal blue crystals and floral lights to the clear vases on the table.

We etched two sides of each vase with Katie and Matt's names, and the vases sat on mirrors that were etched with their wedding Scripture verse.

For a sweet ending to a lovely dinner, each guest took home a favor box we made with Katie and Matt's name on it filled with M&Ms stamped with their engagement picture, their names and their wedding date. (The favor boxes turned out beautifully, but it took hours and hours to hand place over 2,000 royal blue crystals, not to mention the centers of the A's and E on the cutout names on top of the boxes!)

Since Katie's bridesmaids came from several different cities, her Bridesmaid Luncheon was held at Kim's house which was a mid-point for everyone. Kim moved the furniture out of her living room and brought in two large tables. The tables were dressed similar to the tables at the rehearsal dinner, but a gladiola blossom and a fluffy white ostrich feather were attached to each royal blue chair back. (The ostrich feathers were a nod to the large arrangements of ostrich feathers Katie put on the tables at the reception.)

These are the invitations we made for the Bridesmaid Luncheon. The bouquet on the front represented Katie's wedding bouquet of white roses and peonies accented with white ostrich feathers and tied with a royal blue satin ribbon. (By the way, Jordan caught the bouquet at the reception! Boy, does she have a long wait!)

This is a casual shot of the wedding party.

The wedding was beautiful, and Matt and Katie are very happy! Although we hope it will be a while, ScrappyLegg is looking forward to creating baby shower invitations and party favors for future grandbabies!
