Just a Quick Note...

This is just a quick note to all of you who have come to know us through this blog. The last couple of months have been very happy and sad for me (Scrappy). At the end of June I retired...yea me! I also went to the Bahamas for my last fling before settling into the "Golden Years". That's the happy part.

The sad part is, shortly after I returned home, my beautiful cat (Savannah) that has been with me for almost 16 years became ill. She developed a tumor around her jaw and could only eat small amounts of food at a time. The vet took a biopsy of the tumor and told me that there wasn't anything that could been done for her. I was told to make her as comfortable as possible. She died two months later. She was my companion and best friend for so many years, and I have memories that will last me for the rest of my life. To see her picture, please scroll down and look on the left side of this blog. Wasn't she beautiful!!!

For all of you who have fur babies...enjoy them while you can. For the ones who have never experienced having a fur baby...you don't know what you're missing.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment and let us know a little about you. We want our blog to be a place where friends are made. We have had people from all over the world visit us and we hope you like what you see. Hugs to you all.

Finished Hybrid Mini Scrapbook Album

WHAT A BUSY SUMMER!! We have had a lot going on this summer, but we have done a few projects that we would like to share. This is the finished hybrid mini scrapbook album inspired by Kathy Orta of Paper Phenomenon. This album has a vinitage pocket watch theme. The covers and spine are made of chipboard for a booklike quality. Three-demensional watches have been added to the cover for additional pop.

This is the outside spine of the book, picking up the watch/time theme with clock hands.

This is the back of the album. The large tree reflects braches of a family tree.

The album has a magnetic closure featuring a keyhole embellishment and metal key charm hanging from it.

When fully opened, the right side of the album features a shadow box for keepsakes and the left side of the box is the mini photo album.

This is a close up of the shadow box.

This is the front cover of the mini album, highlighted with a metal gear and Tim Holtz clock face and sentiment charm.

The inside cover has a large corner pocket which holds a pull out for photos a journalling.

The album features the Bo Bunny Timepiece Collection. There a many pockets with photo frames and six pullout booklets for many photo and journalling opportunities, and embellishments throughout that add additional interest to this vintage scrapbook album. Below is a quick look at all the pages this books includes.

We would love to hear what your think about this project, and don't forget to checkout Kathy Orta at Paper Phenomenon.

4th of July Card and SVG Freebie

Kim and her family celebrated the July 4th holiday with their neighbors, Mary Anne and Alan, and Kim made this card as a thank you. The patriotic children's parade turned out great, but shows even more detail when enlarged for a 12" scrapbook. If you are interested in receiving this SVG file, just email us and we will send it to you for free.

Heirloom Baby Blanket and Booties

Kim's neighbors and friends, Brandi, Mike and Emma, recently added a new member to their family, Ella. As a welcome home gift, Kim made this lacy baby blanket and matching booties that can be passed down from generation to generation.

Hybrid Mini Album

We have been watching Kathy Orta of Paper Phenomenon (check out her blog listed to the right), and this album with a shadow box attached to it is one of her designs. We are creating some of our own designs inspired by Kathy's idea, and will be posting those soon. In the meantime, check out a sneak peek of our spin on Kathy's hybrid mini album design.

Men's Vintage Paper Bag Scrapbook Album

Just in time for Father's Day, Kim has created this vintage mini paper bag scrapbook album. If you are interested, it is currently listed on eBay -- just click on the link above.

The album measures 5" (h) x 6-1/4" (l) x 2-1/2" (w), and the thick chipboard cover has the strength, stability and feel of a bound book -- no rings or spirals -- and the front cover has protective silver metal corners. There is also a smaller leather bound wallet size (3-3/4" x 5") scrapbook album tucked into a pocket on the back cover of the larger mini album. Both albums were created using top-of-the-line papers and embellishment by Tim Holtz, Graphic 45 and Bo Bunny, etc. So many details, including copper wire, metal charms and embellishments, and photography flim, that add just the right touches to emphasize photos. There are enough pockets and multi-layered photo mats to hold over 50 photos, and many journalling tags with questions to aid in discovering family history.

Since these albums have just too many elements to describe here, be sure to check out the captions below the photographs for all the details.

This is the front of the album.

The album's title is made with a mini film strip and pop dotted for a 3D effect.

The front features a Tim Holtz pocket watch with a tattered rose floral spray. The watch opens in the rear, and the photo inside can be replaced with one of your own.

To allow for the photo in the pocket watch to be changed, it was been secured with Velcro so that it can be removed and replaced without damaging the album.

This is a view of the spine which has been matted in coordinating paper.

The back of the album has also been matted in decorative paper for a finished appearance.

This is inside of the front cover and Page 1. No detail has been left out including the front cover which has a corresponding mini flim strip.

Page 1 has a metal skeleton key, a chipboard photo mat and a large pull out tag with a metal gear as a finger tab.

Pages 2 and 3 of the album.

Page 2 has red copper wiring framing the page with industrial chic charms. A metal frame in the center offers a photo opportunity.

Flip up Page 2 to reveal pockets and photo mats.

Page 3 has a triple-layered photo mat and a large photo mat which stores in a side pocket.

Pages 4 and 5.

Page 4 flips up for more photo and journalling possibilities.

Page 5 has pockets and more photo mats.

Pages 6 and 7.

Page 6 features Tim Holtz paper full of vintage photos, a metal clock face with movable hands and a metal charm that reads "Destiny."

Page 6 flips up to reveal a pocket for photos and an informative journalling tag.

The flip side of Page 6 also holds a paper bi-fold wallet with a metal embellishment.

Whimiscal credit card images and a $1million bill are tucked into the wallet. Lots of photos could be added here too.

Page 7 has pockets for photos and journalling, and a movable clock hand on the bottom pocket.

Page 8 and the back cover of the album.

The large pocket on the back cover holds a smaller leather bound mini album.

These are the photo mats, journalling tags, wallet and mini album.
